Now, French bakers have taken the record for the longest baguette ever made. The lengthy loaf was made in public on Sunday during the Suresnes Baguette Show at the Terrasse du Fécheray observation deck in France’s suburban western commune of Suresnes, near Paris. A Guinness World Records (GWR) judge was there to approve the record, according to Reuters. French bakers try not to crack the baguette when it comes out of a large rotating oven. The attempt to beat the record for the world’s longest baguette was to give homage to that recognized heritage and culture, according to the Suresnes release.

Look, the French know how to make a great baguette, right? Can the French make a big baguette? An enormously long baguette that could feed a small town? French bakers in Suresnes, just west of Paris, made a 461-foot baguette on Sunday. The massive loaf successfully returned the title of world’s longest baguette to France, according to Guinness World Records, as it exceeded a 435-foot baguette made by (gasp) Italians in 2019.

Preşedintele francez Emmanuel Macron a ales o clădire din Suresnes, o suburbie la vest de Paris, ca amplasament al primului muzeu memorial al terorismului, a cărui construcţie ar putea începe în martie 2022, a anunţat marţi Palatul Elysee, informează AFP, citat de agerpres.ro. Acest proiect inedit a fost anunţat de preşedintele Emmanuel Macron în septembrie 2018. Responsabilul proiectului, istoricul Henry Rousso, a declarat în luna martie că inaugurarea muzeului memorial este prevăzută pentru anul 2027. Proiectul de la Suresnes va evoca toate victimele şi atacurile teroriste comise în Franţa din 1974, anul atentatului asupra Drugstore Publicis la Paris, şi până în zilele noastre. Muzeul va oferi un loc important victimelor, supravieţuitorilor, răniţilor cu traume fizice şi psihice, salvatorilor şi celor care au oferit primul ajutor.
